Art inspired and made in some of Queensland’s most
remote and wild places both in the sea and on land.

A fifth generation Queenslander, Karen moved back to Noosa in 2015 with her British husband Mike, having spent over 25 years living and working in London where they founded and ran one of the UK’s most respected wine import and retail companies.

Coming from a long line of musicians and “creatives”, Karen took the opportunity that London provided to learn the piano, as well as the “Bel Canto” Italian singing method  and became a keen collector of artworks, mostly paintings and sculpture.

Having travelled extensively throughout Europe and becoming inspired by artists like Blanpain, Patrice Besso and Kako, that she discovered in the galleries of the Place des Vosges in Paris, Karen took up painting upon moving back to Australia.

Her primary focus explores exotic and wild places and how we live alongside them. A style that sits very comfortably in the light-infused Noosa environment.

Karen and her husband are keen sailors and spend the winter months cruising the Queensland coast in their yacht Island Girl, a cutter-rigged sloop.
