Abstracted Portrait of George Hammond (Ah Ming) of Barcaldine (around 1875) my Great Grandfather taught his 13 children to play stringed, brass and percussion instruments. Together they later formed the Rosie Waters Orchestra and played in private homes in Rockhampton and for civic marching bands. His first son, also named George Hammond wrote and conducted band and orchestral music.
